The Muwaṭṭaʾ of Imām Mālik is one of the most important corpuses in Aḥādīth. Prior to Imām Bukhārī compiling his Ṣaḥīḥ, many considered the Muwaṭṭaʾ to be the most authentic book after the Noble Qurʾān. The statement of Imām Shafiʿī, 'I do not know of a book more precise than the Muwaṭṭaʾ', is commonly quoted. Comprising of over 2815 narrations and written gradually over four decades, Imām Mālik specifically chose narrations that deal with Islamic law and legal rulings. Having relatively short chains to the Prophet ﷺ, Imām Mālik also gathered statements and verdicts of the Companions and Successors. He also included his own comments and verdicts. May Allāh Taʿālā be pleased with them all.
